Here are Manny’s awesome contributions to In Danger:

“ Butch (African Lion)“

“ Butch (African Lion)“

“Big cats of the world have been in my head from the earliest days of playing Tarzan and walking around with an imaginary lion friend. Big cats captivate me. This particular piece was inspired by one of my trips to Africa staying at a lion sanctuary. The lion has been part of the African landscape for thousands of years, celebrated as a symbol of strength and honor throughout the world, and for good reason. He is both beautiful and ferocious. I will never tire of drawing, painting and sculpting lions. They are always my go-to.” - Manny Carrasco

“Amur Leopard”

“Choosing this big cat as a subject was easy. First of all, I love big cats. I’ve always found the leopard inspiring. The Amur is the most critically endangered leopard, hunted for its beautiful fur. This piece was a very meditative one. The number of strokes, the pressure of the pen, they were all filled with emotions, thoughts and hope. I studied a captive Amur leopard and spent long hours and days watching it, sketching it and observing an incredibly beautiful design that only mother-nature could provide.” - Manny Carrasco

“Perseverance (Philippine Eagle)”

“Birds of prey have captivated my imagination since the fourth grade and the reading of “My Side of the Mountain.” Falconry has been a part of my life for many years now. The respect I have for these indicator species has brought my childhood imagination to reality. I’ve traveled the world and sought out raptors. They have much to teach us as long as we are open to listen. This beautiful animal needs human intervention and care, otherwise this eagle will cease to exist.” - Manny Carrasco
